Baking dough: Mix all ingredients (except the beaten egg whites) to a smooth dough and stand with the lid closed. Shortly before baking, whip the egg whites to stiff egg whites and fold them right in.
Turn the treats in the cookie dough to the other side and bake, floating in the hot shortening or baking oil, until done. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and serve lukewarm at the table.
Good combination with apple chueechli and vanilla sauce.
