A simple but delicious cake recipe:
1 hour 20 min, simply cream butter (takes about 15 min), add vanilla sugar and sugar and eggs. Stir in the sifted flour mixed with the baking powder, milk and rum.
Spread almonds and crumbs on a well-buttered cake pan and pour in two-thirds of the mixture. Mix the remaining third of the dough with the well-mixed cream-sugar-cocoa mixture and fill the mold with it.
Use a knitting needle to draw a round in the dough, this will create the nice “light-dark grain” in the cake. Bake in the oven at a good medium heat for about 55 min.
Turn out onto a pretty cake paper, sprinkle with powdered sugar and cool. Serve with whipped cream.
